WAPDA Introduction:
The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority is an autonomous and independent agency of Pakistan’s Federal Government that is responsible for the state’s water and power utilities. It was founded in 1958 by an act of parliament following independence.
WAPDA owns Pakistan’s largest dams and actively manages and operates the country’s commercial and domestic demands and needs. It also plans to build five more multi-dimensional dams to meet the increased demand for electricity.
WAPDA’s mission is to create safe and clean energy that is affordable to Pakistani population in order to reduce electricity tariffs. The business operates on a self-governing network across the country.
