Shift Electrical Engineering Supervisor

• Skelmersdale, Lancashire
• 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off days/nights
• Approximately £46,000 + overtime + vacation + excellent pension plan + benefits package

A forward-thinking and globally recognized waste/energy recycling company is looking for a Maintenance Engineering Supervisor. The company is still receiving funding and operates in a very dynamic industry.

The selected team leader / supervisor will have prior leadership experience, ideally heading a multi-disciplined team, and will be considered for all levels of leadership experience. Candidates with an electrical bias are sought, although individuals with mechanical engineering backgrounds are also invited to apply. Candidates should be prepared to operate in both hands-on and desk-based capacities because the role will require them to do both. Those with a background in waste/recycling will have a strong edge, but ALL applicants with leadership experience and experience working in a heavy industry environment are urged to apply. It is ESSENTIAL that you have prior experience working in a maintenance engineering role on larger / industrial equipment.

You will be the go-to person on shift for all engineering tasks, working as part of a multi-disciplined team of electrical technicians. Working with the operational function, you will be responsible for motivating and leading a team on a daily basis- strong man management skills are required, distributing planned and reactive maintenance activities across site on shift, working hands-on- fault finding and repairing a variety of mechanically oriented equipment, ensuring all colleagues are acting in accordance with health and safety regulations, driving improvements across site, and much more.

The Individual:

Experienced maintenance engineer with management skills (team lead, team manager, maintenance manager, maintenance coordinator etc)

Biased electrically

Manager with a lot of muscle

Waste/recycling experience is a plus (beneficial)

Work experience in a more demanding industry (power plants, aggregates, energy, oil & gas- examples)

On shift, I was in charge of a team of three engineers.

Responsive and planned maintenance jobs are distributed across the site.

Identifying and correcting flaws in production equipment

Salary: £46,172 plus x1.5 overtime + upgraded pension scheme + benefits
