The Pakistan Air Force is the Air Warfare Branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Its primary mission is to provide air defence for Pakistan, with a secondary role of providing air support to the Pakistan Army and Navy as needed, and strategic airlift capability.

According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will have 70,000 active duty personnel and at least 594 aircraft in Pakistan by 2021. Its primary mandate and mission are to “provide Pakistan’s most secure and low-cost air defence, in collaboration with other inter-services.” Since its inception in 1947, the Pakistan Air Force has been involved in a variety of combat operations, as well as providing air support to Pakistani military operations and relief efforts.

The President of Pakistan is designated as the Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Armed Forces by Article 243 of the Pakistan Constitution. In accordance with the law, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) appoints a four-star commissioned air officer in consultation with the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Recruitment Process

At the respective I&SC, there will be an Intelligence Test followed by an Academic Test in relevant subjects.
Initial Medical Exam and Interview
Only shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a psychological test.
First AHQ Special Selection Board interview
CMB Lahore will conduct the final medical examination.
Interview with the Special Selection Board of the Second AHQ.
AHQ makes the final decision in order of merit.
